Drife's 1989 Z32 "Green Monster"
Z-Shop
boss Lindsay Drife's personal car and long term project.

1989
model slick top 2 seater TT has been modified in just about ever manner
imaginable.
Transmission is a factory 5 speed, fitted with an OS Giken twin plate
clutch, and straight cut input shaft and first motion gear with Z Shop
quick shift gear linkage. Total dry weight is 1500kg. Nestled behind the
17" X 8" (front) and 17" X 9" (rear) Volks 3 spoke
hollow-forged alloy wheels are a set of ducted Skyline R34 disc brakes
and calipers in front, and slotted rotors in back. Suspension is by Bilstien
or Olins shocks with adjustable ride height. There's also Stillen adjustable
upper arms, and rose jointed adjustable castor rods. The strut tops are
fitted with spherical bearings. The exhaust is a Vielside twin 3"
mandrel bent turbo back setup. Rear air dam is by Z Shop. Twin water-sprayed
HKS intercoolers lurk behind the Z Shop front bar, along with a Z Shop
custom Under-drive pulley and pneumatic knob turn adjustable boost controller.
You can buy the same front bar here.
The interior features leather seats (with the driver's being fully electric),
and rare 'Fairlady Z' mats in the foot wells. The controller knob for
the pneumatic knob turn adjust boost controller is mounted right in the
middle of the dash, just under the Philips CD head unit. Behind the Halvlanti
sports wheel lurks an Impul 300kph speedo. The engine is an intercooled
VG30DETT precisely managed by an HiTec
ECU. Running 23lbs of boost. Producing 247kw at rear wheels on the
Peninsula TAFE's Dyno Dynamics Dynomometer. The rear hoop spoiler is a
GReddy item. The blanking panel is from Z Shop. Buy
your own copy of either item here.
The
car is currently awaiting fitment of new extractors and turbos (pictured
below along with the stock versions), cam shaft gears, Crower con rods,
Trust/GReddy pistons, new crank, Blow-off valves and dump pipes. All of
these parts are shown below.
